Aeon's Lost Sock in Target (12 Mar. 2022)
As per a typical Saturday, Christina worked at the Clear Lake Post Office while I took care of Aeon at home. I dressed Aeon in a light-worn pink shirt and blue-jean overalls early morning. My mom visited for an hour and helped me fed her blueberries and sweet potatoes for a late breakfast. She ate it all: some six-and-a-half- whole tablespoons! That is the most solid foods that I've fed her in one sitting. She's growing fast.
Only four more months until she is one. Her hair grows thicker by the day, yet she still resembles a kiwi. She can sit on her own, pull herself down onto her belly from the seated position, stand assisted, express when she wants to be held, hugged, and picked up, but most of all she observes everything and giggles like a flooded lawnmower: ah-ah-ah!
In Target, Aeon enjoyed her ride around the store in the front seat of the cart. Shoppers, mostly women, audibly fawned over her curious countenance expressed with wide eyes and an ever craning neck. Originally, the plan was to purchase some cat food and litter but I wanted to buy her a toy, so we went over to the toy section where she momentarily lost one of her socks. I discovered the missing article when her naked swinging digits caught my eye. We spent the next several minutes backtracking through the previous aisles. Luckily for me, it didn't take long to locate, but I received a bemused chuckle from some shoppers as if to signal been there, done that.
When we arrived home, Aeon ate some apple chicken and fell asleep for a half-hour, at which time I sat and typed this entry.
